WATER FILTER PLANT
WHY WATER TREATMENT
IS NEEDED
DO I NEED A WATER
PURIFICATION SYSTEM AT ALL?
The question of water purification arises as if by itself if
the water coming from the water supply system or the well is muddy, has a
yellowish-brown color, and odor. It is much more difficult when the water
is completely "normal" by all external signs - it seems like there is
no reason for concern. Meanwhile, world experience shows that the cost of
water treatment is on average 5-7% of the value of the house. And this is
no coincidence. Even outwardly safe water may contain such a “bouquet” of
dissolved and undissolved impurities that it is sometimes simply unsafe to use
it. Unambiguously judge the quality of water is possible only after full
chemical analysis. Problems are removed by purification systems, or more
correctly, water treatment.
Water purification from 5 contaminants - hardness, iron,
manganese, ammonium, and organics.
Such
uniformity of pollution determines the main task of water purification from the
well: simultaneous softening, iron removal, removal of manganese. That is
why comprehensive water treatment is perhaps the most popular in the Ukrainian
water treatment market. Complex cleaning allows you to effectively soften
the water, remove iron, manganese, as well as organic impurities and ammonium
using only ONE filter thanks to a special filter filling.
Perhaps the most difficult task of water treatment is the
removal of iron, water purification from manganese. The effectiveness of
deferrization is determined by a number of factors: the pH value of the pH, as
well as the content of anions, oxygen, organics, hydrogen sulfide. In
addition, iron can be found in water in several forms, including hard to remove
ones. So, in the well most often it is divalent and therefore dissolved,
inorganic iron. In addition, organic divalent, as well as colloidal and
trivalent, sedimentary forms may be present.
Complex water purification efficiently and effectively
removes all of the above forms of iron: dissolved, colloidal and organic,
regardless of pH, the presence or absence of chlorine, organics, hydrogen
sulfide, as well as the ratio of chlorides, sulfates and
bicarbonates. Concomitant manganese is also removed along the way.
For complex water treatment, only the total iron content is
relevant. Thanks to a comprehensive cleaning, deferrization, softening, as
well as demanganization, have become simple and affordable. Integrated
filters are reliable in operation, and in design and dimensions are identical
to standard water softeners. The calculation of the filter performance is
carried out under the condition of a linear filtration rate at the level of
20-25 m / h.
Long and uninterrupted operation of the filters is ensured by
periodic and timely regeneration, that is, washing of the load, as a result of
which the accumulated iron, manganese, stiffness ions, and other contaminants
are removed and washed off into the drainage. The regeneration process
consists of three parts: backwashing the load with water, washing with a
solution of sodium chloride, and final quick washing. When these and
other simple operating rules are followed, the loading of the integrated
cleaning filter will last 5-7 years.
The universality of the technology, the ability to
effectively remove all types of iron, regardless of pH and other factors, as
well as the simultaneous softening of water, purification of water from
manganese and filtration from organics and ammonium have led to the widespread
use of complex purification. In turn, the compactness and
cost-effectiveness of these filters allow them to be used both for water
purification in cottages and apartments, as well as for commercial water
treatment, for example, for hotels, restaurants, mini-manufactures.
Main water filters
Water purification
with main filters
Water is not only the basis of all living things but also
the basis for our civilization. After all, people always tried to settle
closer to the water, because the largest megacities of the world grew on water:
London, New York, Moscow, Tokyo, and others. Water is needed not only to
meet natural needs, but also for hygiene.

A mechanical water filter plant is a fairly simple device that traps foreign bodies,
dirt, rust, grains of sand, fine debris, and organic particles. First of
all, such filters protect household appliances (dishwashers and washing
machines, plumbing for the bathroom and kitchen) from damage by small debris
that is contained in tap water. At first glance, the water may seem quite
clean, but do not forget that before you get to your crane it passes kilometers
of old rusty pipes and as a result becomes practically unsuitable for further
use in domestic needs. Therefore, a mechanical water purification filter
is not a luxury, but a necessity. You can buy the main water filter in our
Water Service store.
Main mechanical
filters are divided into the following types:
Coarse filters (operate in the range from 20 to 100
microns);
Cartridge filters (or
cartridge);
1. Filters of the filling type;
2. Mesh washing;
3. Disk wash filters.
4. Cartridge Line Filters
The
basis of the cartridge filter is a collapsible metal or plastic flask into
which the cartridge is placed - a disposable replaceable element. Such
filters have a filtration range of 20 to 50 microns. Cartridge printers
are distinguished from washing printers by a single-use filter element, that
is, it will not work to clean and reuse it.
But how to detect a clogged filter or not? Quite
simply, you will notice that the pressure of the water in the tap will decrease
significantly, so it's time to replace the cartridge. Replacing is quite
simple, for this, minimal knowledge and skills are enough. how often the
cartridge will clog up is pretty hard to say because it depends on many
factors, such as: the quality of tap water, its composition, worn
pipes. Someone will change the cartridge once every six months, and
someone every week.
Water strainers

Strainers consist of a housing and a fine mesh which performs the filter element. This is ideal
for filtering water with a low content of mechanical particles. There are
a lot of options for such filters, and the degree of purification depends on
the size of the mesh cell. In case of clogging, it will not be necessary
to disassemble and change such a filter; washing with a reverse water flow will
suffice.
Disc Water Filters
Disc filters
are designed for coarser water treatment. Outwardly, they are absolutely
no different from the retina, but dense discs with longitudinal grooves are
used as a filter element. Such filters combine reliability,
unpretentiousness in operation and low cost of maintenance. Able to filter
out both mechanical and organic particles. They are mainly used for water
intake from wells. As in the case with strainers, if clogged, it is enough
to rinse with a reverse flow of water.
The advantages of a disc filter over
a mesh filter
Disk filters have several advantages:
1.
They are much easier to wash from particles and
dirt accumulated inside;
2.
Unlike screen filters, disk filters are much
more resistant to corrosion, which is especially true for areas with brackish
water;
3.
Strainers are ineffective in treating water that
contains fine fibers (such as wool). That is, the water purified using a
disk filter will be better;
4.
Unpretentious maintenance, easy to repair;
5.
All components of the product are chemically
neutral, do not affect the composition of water;
6.
Reliable, robust construction with relatively
low weight;
7.
Not afraid of water hammer;
8.
A wide range of applications, such as a filter can
be used to purify drinking both drinking and industrial water.
9.
Disc filters are more expensive than mesh
filters, the higher cost is offset by a much longer work.
10.
Fill filters for mechanical cleaning
As
the main filter element in the filling filter, synthetic granular material is
used - foamed aluminosilicate. You can also clear a clogged backfill
filter with a reverse flow of water. Such filters are able to cope with
particles up to 20 microns in size, they can withstand code moments well, a
stream of heavily contaminated water enters the water supply. Fill systems
are the most complex of all the above, most models are equipped with an
automatic control unit.
Such a filter works according to a rather simple principle:
water under pressure enters the filter, passes through the filter material from
top to bottom and is already cleaned of foreign bodies (sand, clay, rust, etc.)
and enters the outlet port for further supply through the water supply.
Fill filters are installed in front of chemical water
treatment systems. Ideally, in front of the filling filter, there is a
disk or mesh filter, so you can achieve perfect water purification.
Drinking water filters
Today, the water that flows from our taps, roughly speaking,
has not been drinking for a long time. The use of such water leads to the scale on a teapot and other utensils, poisoning the body with organochlorine
(do not confuse it with free chlorine that wears off when the water settles),
and the unpleasant taste of drinks and cooked dishes.
Nationwide, this problem is simply unrealistic to
solve! The general ecological state of the prepared water sources is
getting worse every year, and there is no doubt that the attitude to this
problem will change.
Residents of high-rise buildings are forced to buy bottled
(supposedly mineral and healthy) water, but given that the water market is
crowded with water bottling plants, there is no escape from fakes, and
manufacturers can preserve antibiotics for long periods of storage. It is
worth thinking about its quality. But there is water and good quality,
there are many well-known brands that supply water in 19 liters. bottles
to your home, but first this water is extracted and purified by various methods
including reverse osmosis.
Today, the reverse osmosis water filter is the most perfect
and effective way to purify tap water and turn it into drinking water.
It is worth noting that the principle of operation of the
reverse osmosis system is borrowed from nature, and consists in the following:
a thin membrane, which is a film with fractions of very small sizes, is able to
pass only water molecules, as well as some chemical elements dissolved in it,
oxygen, hydrogen. And mechanical impurities, salts of heavy metals,
harmful pathogenic viruses and bacteria remain behind the membrane.
To prevent membrane cells from becoming clogged with a
variety of impurities contained in the water to be purified, the filter of the
reverse osmosis system must have a water pre-filter (prefilter) with several
stages of filtration. The first stage of filtration is the cleaning of
mechanical impurities (sand, suspensions, rust, etc.), the second is the stage
of chemical cleaning with a carbon filter of chlorine-containing and various
organic compounds. If necessary, the prefilter can be equipped with the the third stage of cleaning - trapping small particles not exceeding 5 microns in
size.
After the membrane, immediately before the drinking tap of
purified water, there is a carbon post-filter. This is the last stage of
purification, which is a guarantee of obtaining drinking water of impeccable
purity.
Thus, it turns out to be unusually tasty, perfectly
purified, healthy water, in quality and taste many times greater than the usual
bottled water from the supermarket.
To increase the service life, productivity, and improve the
quality of purified water, reverse osmosis systems have an auto-flushing device
(water is supplied to the membrane under pressure for 20 seconds and begins to
wash away particles accumulated on it).
If the pressure in the water supply system is small (less
than 2 atm.) Or the water is taken from the tank, then the reverse osmosis
system is supplemented by a pressure increase pump. With its help, the
pressure rises to the level of 3.5-4 atm., Which is necessary for the normal
operation of the filter. Note that the required pressure level is present
in almost all water supply systems in large cities, so some filter models are
equipped with a pressure increase pump.
The reverse osmosis system also comes with a storage tank
for storing purified water and a chrome-plated drinking tap, which is installed
on the sink next to the main mixer.
The carbon filter for water purification effectively removes:
1.
chlorine and its compounds;
2.
mechanical impurities;
3.
bacteria and germs;
4.
smell and turbidity.
The quality of the water purified through a charcoal filter
is fundamentally different from the tap water supplied by public
utilities. The carbon water filter compares favorably with compact
dimensions and ease of installation. Most often, you can install it
yourself, without resorting to the help of specialists.
Purification of water from chlorine
using a carbon filter
Water from the city pipeline is heavily
chlorinated. Therefore, many people suffer from irritations of the skin,
while the condition of the hair and teeth also noticeably worsens. In such
cases, a carbon filter is a real salvation. With the right choice of model
and its proper installation, all of these problems will disappear from your
life forever. Instead, your family’s immunity will be much stronger.
The big advantage of this device is its relatively low
price. The carbon filter price is available for any category of the population. Moreover,
it very effectively copes with any chlorine compounds. This treatment
system is multifunctional and reliable.
Before you buy a carbon filter, familiarize yourself with
its principle of operation. It is a small plastic vessel with a replaceable
cartridge, which is filled with activated carbon. In this case, coal is
initially specially treated. Inexpensive exchangeable cartridges can be
easily replaced independently. The return on the filter is very high given
the high cost of bottled water. The carbon filter is designed for several
months of continuous operation. Depending on the quality of the water
entering it, it can effectively last up to a year.
How to choose chlorine water
treatment
Dechlorination of tap water is effectively managed by the
following types of filters:
·
Cartridge type
·
Column type
·
Cabinet type
The most compact and cost-effective are carbon cartridge
filters. But in their device, there is no material regeneration, so the cartridge needs to be replaced every six months. In this case, the
cartridge type is inferior to other types in terms of cleaning speed.
The material for loading carbon column water filters is more
durable and will last up to two years without replacement, and the material is
automatically regenerated. However, column filters take up a lot of space,
but the highest speed of water purification and high throughput allow them to
be used for mini-production.
Carbon filters of cabinet type with automatic material
recovery can function uninterruptedly for two years. Regeneration takes
place according to an established cycle, depending on the quality of water and
other factors. This filter is quite bulky in size, but it has a maximum
degree of water purification compared to cartridge types of filters.
Mechanical water filters
Mechanical water treatment - removal of suspended
solids (particles, sand, suspensions, rusts, etc.) from industrial and domestic
wastewater. The essence of this method is to prepare water for
physicochemical and biological treatment. Mechanical water purification
filters are usually installed at the inlet of the filtration system, but
depending on the project, they can be used with other elements of water
treatment systems.
Filters for mechanical cleaning water
Multimedia filter media in the field of mechanical water
purification has many advantages.
Physical properties allow reaching the level of mechanical
treatment up to 5 microns.
Due to the large size of the filter particles and the deep
penetration of contaminant particles into the loading layers, the pressure loss
of the filter is reduced and the service life of the material is extended.
Due to the irregular shape, the multimedia download prevents
the filtered impurities from sticking and blocking in the upper loading
layer. Lightness provides low water consumption and greater expansion of
the layer to remove mechanically filtered particles during loosening of the
load. This combination makes multimedia loading highly efficient filter
media.
When used in mechanical filters, it significantly reduces
the capital and operating costs of purifying water from suspended particles due
to low-pressure losses, high productivity, and low loosening water consumption.
